"I would like to quote the most learned man of our time, Mr Einstein. He said: ‘The world is a dangerous place to live, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing’. That is the case here in Parliament as well. We have known for decades that a great deal of tampering has been taking place with regard to assistants’ allowances, travel allowances, allowances for general expenditure, daily allowances, funds for visiting groups and funds for political groups. I hope that Parliament is finally going to do something about this before the 2009 elections, and that these will not be just empty promises as has been the case over the past few decades. In anticipation of this, I actually believe that we should postpone the discharge. I feel it will be unmarketable to the voters if we grant ourselves discharge."@en1
