"I voted against the Morillon report, because a number of amendments which I co-signed were voted down. In particular, amendments relating to the reallocation of fishing opportunities were defeated. My own hostility to the disastrous CFP has been well documented in this House and I believe that fisheries management should be returned to Europe’s fishing nations. However, for as long as we have a common policy, the principle of relative stability must remain inviolable and all of Europe’s fishing communities must be assured that their historic fishing rights will remain their own."@en1
