In particular, amendments relating to the reallocation of fishing opportunities were defeated. My own hostility to the disastrous CFP has been well documented in this House and I believe that fisheries management should be returned to Europe’s fishing nations. However, for as long as we have a common policy, the principle of relative stability must remain inviolable and all of Europe’s fishing communities must be assured that their historic fishing rights will remain their own."@en1
