I would like to emphasise the importance of the common energy policy. Since 2006, we have been discussing the issue of EU common energy policy, and Parliament has outlined the dimension of the external energy policy. This policy is currently of great importance in view of our efforts to procure gas from various sources, and since it is the key topic of various discussions, such as those on new energy sources, the Arctic, etc., it will continue to be relevant in the future. The European Union should not be the last to discover and make use of new energy sources, as is usually the case."@en1
