"Mr President, on 19 November 2007 the A6 motorway connecting Bratislava and Vienna was inaugurated. I regard it as a historic event, which will significantly simplify the motorway links between the Slovak Republic and Austria.
After three years of intensive works on the A6, and once the Slovak Republic has joined the Schengen area, the contacts between the two countries will no doubt become even more productive.
I would like to thank Austria for having successfully completed the project, in collaboration with the Slovak Republic. The opening of the A6 heralds the first time that the Slovak Republic has been connected to the trans-European transport corridors. This will bring relief to the other transport routes that are already heavily used."@en1
