"Madam President, can I ask the Commissioner if he is aware that target 11 of the Millennium Development Goals seeks to significantly improve the lives of 100 million people living in slums by 2020? And there are, in fact, something like 900 million people – at least the question said 900 million and I do not think the Commissioner questioned that – living in urban slums?
The Commissioner will be at the EU-ACP Assembly in Rwanda later this month. Will he be in a position to give any indication to the Assembly there, or when will he be in a position to give an indication to the Assembly here, of precise statistics on the way to reaching this objective? You said that you will come back with a plan, you will come back with a report, but will that report give us precise details on how this objective of taking 100 million people out of slum dwellings will be achieved?"@en1
