Let me quote his words: ‘above all to head off any threat of referenda by avoiding any form of constitutional vocabulary’ – end of quote. That is how EU citizens learned that a referendum on the Reform Treaty is a threat to Europe, and the authors of this Treaty concede that manipulations are deliberately being practised to deceive the peoples of Europe. This outrageous utterance shows that referendums on the Treaty are needed, but before they are held an honest debate is required, not least in the forum of the European Parliament.
