"I can, in fact, answer the question from my own knowledge of the situation. There are 12 seconded experts in the Commission’s trade union. In addition, there are 19 positions on the staff committees, which are of course separate bodies. They may employ a total of nine secretaries. What you said about strikes is partly true. It is true that the Commission has agreed a negotiated solution that during a strike officials may be paid some of their salary, but normally not all of it. For me it is something of a delicate matter that people who are on strike get paid half their salary."@en1
