"I have already said that I am not at all satisfied with the level of implementation and, so far, only four Member States have implemented this decision. This decision now has to be implemented by all the Member States. The fact that only four Member States so far are implementing a decision unanimously taken in February 2007 shows that we have to do much more.
Concerning the right balance between protecting the confidentiality of data, or the protection of privacy of data, and the fight against paedophilia, when we talk about paedophiles and crimes and the abuse of children, from my personal point of view I am on the side of the victims – the children – and I am not on the side of the criminals. So, provided that all the guarantees are acknowledged, we should first of all support the victims and parents, not the suspected criminals."@en1
