"Mr President, the European Parliament is embarking on a very dangerous course with this Buitenweg report and I voted against it, together with my Group. Because the combination of the right of so-called equality bodies to take people to court and reversal of the burden of proof in litigation and in other prohibited grounds for discrimination will undoubtedly in our view lead to a witch-hunt against people who hold a different and critical view. Because that is what this is all about. Europe wants a new inquisition against anyone who refuses to accept its dogmas and multicultural society. This has nothing to do with getting rid of discrimination against minority groups; it is all about legalising a carefully crafted political correctness.
If we want to attack real discrimination, we should address the situation of women in Europe’s Muslim community, or put pressure on the applicant country of Turkey over the way it blatantly discriminates against religious minorities, but of course that does not sit well with the European Parliament and its agenda."@en1
