The Services Directive is unclear and cumbersome, and leaves power over how it is to be implemented in the hands of a Court of Justice which cannot be dismissed. Now we have a report which says explicitly: no new legislation in the services sector. That is good and will prevent any further damage. Besides there is the proposal to allow consumers to bring collective cross-border actions and a certain regulation of the liability of firms. This leads me to vote in favour, despite the call for new ‘initiatives’, i.e. laws at EU level, which are not necessary. After all, I can vote against them when they come before us..."@en1
