The report has many good ideas on how to reduce social exclusion etc., but then it spoils everything by speaking of how university fees can serve as a financial incentive! Worst of all is its preoccupation with ‘effectiveness’, ‘competitiveness’ and ‘higher standards of performance’. What happened to creativity, capacity for critical examination and independent thinking? The EU wants conformist production units geared to consumption and production. Fortunately the EU does not have power over education, and so it should remain. I will vote against the report."@en1
