lpv:translated text	"Mr President, I certainly applaud the work of the Committee of Inquiry and Mrs Diane Wallis. As always, I welcome the petitioners who are here today, as well as Mr Braithwaite and Mr Lake. It is very nice to see you all. I would like to say that today’s work is due to the successful efforts of both the Committee of Inquiry and, to a significant extent, the Committee on Petitions, as that is where this work began. The Committee of Inquiry was set up as a result of a report drawn up by the Committee on Petitions. The Committee on Petitions exists in order to assist ordinary citizens. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that there has been a whole series of cases involving hundreds of thousands, or even millions of victims. There was the case of excise tax on cars in Poland and the Lloyds case, which was similar to the one being discussed today. I also remember the case of the reference to God in the preamble of the Constitutional Treaty. There was the matter of the COPE radio station, cases involving irregularities in land management laws in Valencia and today’s case which involves . Millions of people turn to the Committee on Petitions. Their cases are either successfully resolved here or at least gain public exposure."@en1
