"Commissioner, are you aware that it is becoming increasingly difficult for parents who do not work for the European institutions to have their children enrolled in the European Schools? This creates a kind of ghetto mentality and in particular increases opposition to these schools among the citizens of Brussels.
Secondly, given the very poor provision of public transport, I should like to ask you how anyone could have hit on the idea of locating the fourth school in Laeken. The school buses that will be laid on will have to transport pupils across the entire city, which will waste a great deal of the children's time. Why could a better location not have been found with the Belgian authorities?"@en1
