"Mr President, High Representative, I have four telegraphic thoughts to express in one minute. Number one: it is high time to replace the new conservativism in international affairs with realism, and to replace the extreme ideological approach which we have heard here today with pragmatism guided by our principles and values. Number two: multilateralism is a key endeavour and we should not fail in this endeavour. Number three: the many frozen crises in our eastern neighbourhood are only part of a single coherent problem which is the post-Soviet status of Russia. We must at last build a vision in this respect. Number four: the European Union is not a defensive alliance, but we must create the political environment which could engage Russia and the United States in promoting a global partnership for defence against the contemporary threats, thus rejecting any bilateral anti-missile arrangements which will divide us and expose us more than defend us."@en1
