"Mr President, I wish to speak in order to respond to personal comments pursuant to Rule 145 of the Rules of Procedure. I regret that Mr Alvaro is not here, since he referred to me.
I simply wished to say three things. Firstly, Mr President, that I always have a humble willingness to learn, but I am not always prepared to be lectured.
Secondly, Mr President, I frankly believe that one of the worst ways of defrauding knowledge is to try to pass a personal opinion off as a fact, to pass off what is in fact a personal judgment as an absolute truth.
Thirdly, Mr President, that a true liberal is not dogmatic and respects the opinions of others, and that, in a debate, it is as legitimate to be in favour as it is to be opposed or to abstain."@en1
