lpv:translated text	". Mr President, it is a good thing that the world is no longer divided between the Warsaw Pact and NATO. It is a good thing that the former states of the Soviet bloc are today united in the European Union and NATO, or are on their way to membership. United, Europe is stronger and in a better position to face the issue of the day – North Korean nuclear tests. Fortunately, today even Russia has supported the voice of the civilised world and, like us, has condemned the nuclear tests, although some terrible events have been going on there such as the murder of journalists, the latest being Anna Politkovskaya. North Korea is today one of the last blank spots on the map of the world as regards political, economic and democratic development. What is actually the problem with North Korea? Perhaps it is simply trying to attract our attention, and this is a desperate cry for help. We are pleased to note that even China has condemned Korea’s proposed arms race. Today, more than ever in world history, all countries want economic development and to live in peace. North Korea also needs food and prosperity more than it needs weapons."@en1
