We are aware that many involved in the fisheries sector have faced economic insecurity over recent years as a consequence of rises in the price of fuel. We are also, however, advocates of a sustainable fisheries sector, and so we oppose the renewal and modernisation of the fisheries fleet except in so far as it is done on the basis of sustainability.
