".
It mainly concerns the Financial Regulation and the financial implementing rules. The Commission has prepared the simplification procedures and they were approved in May. This package of new legislation is on the Council’s table and on the Committee on Budgets’ table with Mrs Grässle, who is the rapporteur on this question. She can confirm that we took on about 80% of Parliament’s proposals. The package is very good, but now much will depend on whether the Finnish Presidency will approve it and on the negotiations between the Council and Parliament, while it remains a Council decision. So I very much hope that a lot more simplification will take place from 2007, especially regarding the procedures for paying for these kinds of projects. But that is another matter."@en1
