He will be aware, however, that I and one of my constituents have written to him several times about the case of a legitimate and legal importer of birds from the United States, legally taken in the United States, who is being put out of business because of this ban – which is a ban for health reasons, for chickens, and which is not relevant to these particular wild birds in the United States. They are legal, legitimate and do not pose health risks. Why is the Commissioner imposing this draconian measure on small businesses in Europe?"@en1
