Following the Commission’s reply to the honourable Member’s question earlier this year, we have asked the Irish authorities for clarification as to the implementation in Ireland of Directive 96/71/EC. The deadline for the submission of observations by the Irish authorities has not yet passed. Once these observations have been received, the Commission will assess them and of course, if necessary, decide on a further course of action. In the meantime, we have adopted a new communication concerning guidance on the posting of workers in the framework of the provision of services. In this communication we have announced the adoption in spring 2007 of a report that will examine the situation in all Member States, of course including Ireland."@en1
