I support this resolution and the commitment by the Commission and Council to deal with Palestine’s duly elected government, even if its politics are other than we might wish. No good can come from driving Palestine into financial chaos and ruin. Europe's policy should serve as an example to the US and others as to how to proceed in future.
I did not support the inclusion of paragraph 9 in the resolution, however. While I have and will continue to support demands for an immediate halt to further extension of the settlements - or rather their dismantling - and no further building of the wall, I feel it does not fit well here, where we are essentially dealing with a very different issue."@en1
