". I and my British Conservative colleagues support the highest standards of human rights in the world. However, the issue of an absolute ban on the death sentence remains a conscience based issue for individual MEPs. Nevertheless, we all condemn the inappropriate and excessive use of the death penalty in countries such as China and Iran. We believe that issues of international human rights violations should not be dealt with by the International Criminal Court but should be convened by UN ad hoc Tribunals."@en1
