I voted in favour of this report which seeks to amend the EU’s current rules on controlling transmissible spongiform encephalopathies (TSE) in order to bring the EU into line with international agreements reducing BSE risks categories from 5 to 3. TSEs are brain disorders in animals and include sub-categories such as BSE and other diseases. The aim is to streamline the risk categories while improving EU animal health controls and maintaining consumer protection."@en1
