lpv:translated text	"I voted in favour of the excellent report by my colleague, Mr Doorn, on a motion for a resolution of the European Parliament on the application of the principle of subsidiarity. The way in which European legislation is applied continually creates a gulf between European integration and the nations. It is therefore a matter of urgency to bring about the vitally needed consistency between Community law, its transposition by the Member States and its practical application. Any pointless legislation should be repealed, and necessary legislation properly applied. I am in favour of the idea of the European Parliament being closely involved in monitoring the application of European law by the Member States."@en1
