This report has been amended so much that it was not possible for me to support it, even though I agree with some of the points. The aims of the 'Make Poverty History' campaign and the march in Edinburgh last summer have so comprehensively not been met that it is a sorely missed opportunity. We could have sent a louder, clearer message today to our governments and to the European Commission. Instead we have virtually endorsed the status quo which I do not want to see continue."@en1
