". I welcome the Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality’s own-initiative report on the future of the Lisbon Strategy with regard to the gender perspective. I agree that measures must be taken to promote employment for women as well as reduce the continuing inequalities between women and men. The report stresses the disparities that still exist in underlying factors such as employment, the wage gap, lifelong education and training. It also assesses the ways in which professional, family and private life can be successfully combined."@en1
