I myself have seen in various countries the EU neighbourhood policy in action, and it is vital that this policy area be maintained so that our area of democracy and freedom can be extended. The EU is more outward looking than it is often given credit for, and while the past years have seen internal preoccupations claiming the most headlines, most of the achievements have been external, often behind the scenes. It is vital that these actions are continued and I was pleased to support this resolution."@en1
