". As I have said, the European Union raises the question regularly in all dialogues as well as in international fora, which is very important. We have raised it at the United Nations. We do not name and shame, but we are very clear when we speak to the countries concerned if we believe, or have reason to believe, that there is persecution or restriction of the right to religious freedom. To give you an example: we very much emphasise the question of religious freedom in our human rights discussions with China, because we believe this to be an issue that must be raised in the context of our dialogue with China. The same is true in other areas. The adoption of a resolution, which was adopted by a large majority of members of the United Nations, is a step in the right direction. This will give us even more leverage in the future to raise this question in our relations with those countries. The fact that we do business with those countries does not prevent us from speaking out clearly when it comes to violations of human rights."@en1
