"Mr President, Commissioner, the world is currently experiencing the irreversible globalisation of many aspects of life. Although we fear this process, we also have high hopes for it. It is my belief that the World Trade Organisation will provide an effective mechanism for performing the much-needed task of controlling globalisation. I wish Commissioner Mandelson every success in Hong Kong, but not at any cost, as he himself said. If the EU agricultural sector, which is most vulnerable in the new Member States, is to be sacrificed, then developing countries should at least be the ones to benefit. Rich countries should not profit from any sacrifice of Polish agriculture and Polish sugar."@en1
