"We are voting against this resolution from the European Parliament. We completely agree with the decision of 7 November 2000 by the EU committee of the Swedish Parliament, commenting on the issue of increased EU coordination within the education field. The committee adopted a wording to the effect that care must be taken to ensure that the Member States’ exclusive responsibility for the organisation of education and for the content of education systems is fully respected. The following day, the EU’s education ministers met and adopted, among other things, the appendix from the EU committee of the Swedish Parliament, presented by Sweden’s then education minister. We see no reason to review the position it expresses."@en1
