"Mr President, I would like to make reference to the principle whereby Parliament defends democracy and the rules of the constitutional state. While we know that the Constitution of Cyprus provides that, before the public prosecutor of the Republic of Cyprus may address Parliament, he must ask for the opinion of the Supreme Court, we have to check that he has done so. It has been said that he did not do so. I do not believe that Parliament can vote in favour of a motion that contradicts the legal order of the Member State."@en1
