"The motion is worthy of being supported by the European Parliament. The concept of multilingual and multinational education implemented in these schools could serve as a model for Member States’ educational systems. Nonetheless, the programme has its weaknesses. There are no standard rules for all such institutions concerning the admission of candidates, overly large classes, and pupils being obliged to attend lessons given in a language other than their mother tongue. There are no recommendations either concerning the education of children with special needs. Such shortcomings must be remedied. Following enlargement of the European Union, it is appropriate to consider the need to create similar schools on the territory of the new Member States. The establishment of the External Borders Agency in Warsaw should offer just such an opportunity, because education must be provided for the children of the officials employed there. Institutions of this type will play an important part in promoting the idea of European integration amongst future generations."@en1
