"The June List supports the Swedish Government’s demand that cohesion aid be reduced from the proposed EUR 336.1 billion to not quite EUR 200 billion in the financial perspectives for 2007-2013. The reports should be about the most suitable ways of reducing expenditure so as to come closer to meeting the G6 countries’ demand for a budget not exceeding 1.00% of the Member States’ gross national income. The basis for any cohesion policy must be that aid needs to go to the very poorest countries. At present, far too much money goes to poor regions in relatively rich countries. The current system is not only unjust towards the poorest countries. The system may also appear cynical because rich countries are not themselves permitted to help less well-placed regions in the same way as they could if the larger part of cohesion policy were re-nationalised."@en1
