"I listened with interest to the Commissioner’s reply to my colleague Gay Mitchell on this issue, in particular taken together with Question 45, which dealt with the EUR 6 billion of state aid by the British Government for the restructuring of British Energy. Are extra jobs going to be created there?
I should like to reiterate the point that Mr Mitchell just made. The loss of this money to Intel, or the withdrawal of state aid by the Irish Government, will not benefit any other EU Member State at all. There is no question of the investment going elsewhere in Europe, so the logic is lost on us in terms of the various points you made. I look forward to hearing your reply."@en1
