I welcome this motion for a resolution by the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety regarding draft implementing measures, such as the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment, that would ‘exceed the implementing powers provided for in the basic instruments’ All indications are that in this area the Commission has not acted in accordance with the provisions of Directive 2002/95/EC. We should therefore ask the Commission to re-examine its proposal for a decision in order to restore Community legality. I voted in favour."@en1
