".
Coming from Portugal as I do, and speaking as the vice-chairman of the Committee on Transport and Tourism, I have significant concerns, you will appreciate, about the future of maritime transport. As I have said before, I believe in the virtues of increasing the use of sea and river transport for both passengers and goods. I also believe, along with the Commission communication and the report before us, that this will only happen if we work at various levels, for example by removing bureaucracy, by streamlining administration and by striving to improve the infrastructure.
I therefore voted in favour."@en1
