"Mr President, ladies and gentlemen, I should like to stress that for some weeks now we have been trying to bring the issue of Bangladesh – a country where internal tensions are running very high – to the attention of this House and of European public opinion in general.
I would also argue that, even though the Chair of the Delegation for Relations with the Countries of South Asia is against it, that does not mean that the situation in that country does not need debating urgently. The rationale seems rather specious to me, and so we are in favour of keeping this item on the agenda."@en1
