". Honourable Member of Parliament, I share your view and your worries. More than that, since between the 25 Member States of the European Union there are certain differences which do not fit with the rules of open competition. It is well known that the ten newly-acceded countries get significantly less assistance from the common agricultural policy than the fifteen old Member States, and that this holds back the farmers of the ten new Member States, and their products, in competition. Naturally I know that developing countries face substantially larger problems, and especially the poorest countries. But seeing how serious the problems of the ten newly-acceded countries are, I can very much feel and understand the problems of the poorest countries. Further steps are needed for the European Union market to be accessible to the poorest countries."@en1
