lpv:translated text	"Mr President, ladies and gentlemen, on my own behalf and on behalf of the ‘Green Initiative’ Association, I should like to alert Members to the potential destruction of the environment along the Lower Oder between the cities of Szczecin and Schwedt, on the Polish-German border. There are plans to reconstruct the channel at this point, or in other words to widen and deepen it. The work is more than likely to damage and destroy the International Lower Oder Valley Park. Having seen the plans, I am convinced that this reconstructed channel will destroy the local peat bogs, as well as disrupting water flow and destroying natural breeding grounds for birds. I am certain that in this day and age and in this House there will surely be no lack of people willing to fight to protect the environment from destruction."@en1
