lpv:translated text	"Mr President, this week sees the third anniversary of Ingrid Betancourt’s abduction by Colombia’s FARC guerrillas. It was 23 February 2002 when Ingrid Betancourt, mouthpiece for my Colombian sister party and a presidential candidate, was abducted while she was on the way to seek a negotiated solution to the conflict between the government and FARC. The Colombian Government must stop having recourse to military means. It must instead sign a humanitarian agreement with FARC in line with the Geneva Convention so that Ingrid and 3 000 other prisoners can be released. I should be very grateful if you could act on Parliament’s behalf and convey our concern about the breaches of human rights in Colombia."@en1
