lpv:translated text	"I would like to thank the President of the Commission for the concise, clear and powerful presentation of his work programme, although I would prefer to call it an action plan for the next five years. I should like, though, to make one observation, namely that it will not be possible to assess many of the action points you have mentioned until March and April when we know what the renewed Lisbon process brings, and, while I am on that subject, there is one aspect of the Lisbon process that gives me slight cause for concern. We are all talking about a strategy, the strategy in which competition, growth, more jobs, but also sustainability, are central. It is impossible to lift one element from a strategy. You have spoken about social sustainability, rightly so, but I have not heard you utter one word about ecological sustainability, which should be part and parcel of the Lisbon strategy if it is to work. I am therefore assuming that social and ecological sustainability will soon be given more attention in the Lisbon process. I have already had a chance to leaf through your statement. I do not actually find in it – although you will perhaps return to this later – any reference to mobility in Europe, about the need for us not only to sort out the financial services issue, but also that of qualifications, and to ensure that a migrant worker or tradesman feels at home in Europe. For this to happen, we must ensure that more jobs are created. You have mentioned partnership, and that entails partnership not only with the citizens, but also with the Member States, regions and social partners."@en1
