"Madam President, I shall reply on a personal basis, since you are addressing me directly. I think that it is a good idea. In my view, more needs to be done to evaluate the research programmes implemented. This factor must be taken into account when discussing the preparation of the Seventh Framework Plan for research and the increase in funds, which I hope will be substantial, within the framework of the next financial perspectives. I believe that this idea deserves to be looked at more closely and submitted to the Council’s decision-making bodies."@en1
