". I hope this proposal will be successful in its aims of modernising and improving the existing EU rules in the field of motor insurance. There are clear advantages for drivers in having a coherent framework for the recognition of their insurance policies and claims across frontiers. This report should also add clarity to what legal assistance drivers are entitled to following an accident. I hope the dispute over 'vehicle and trailer' issues does not stop this being adopted without need for conciliation."@en1
