This programme has made an original and essential contribution to reconciliation, rebuilding trust between neighbours and bringing communities together from both sides of the border. The PEACE projects have contributed greatly to promoting mutual understanding and better community relations and I am delighted that funding has now been extended to the end of 2006. There is not doubt that our hopes for a peaceful future depend on the good work of the various cross-border and North-South initiatives funded under this programme."@en1
