It remains the case that the Commission is not represented in the Security Council and I imagine that will continue even during the lifetime of the next Commission, distinguished though it doubtless will be.
My own personal view is that it would help to raise this question regularly in the Security Council. Whether that position would be shared by say, China, or some other Member States of the United Nations, I am not sure. But if I may make a point about two countries which have a strong relationship with Burma, China and India, I think they should both recognise that Burma is a destabilising force in their region and the sooner they work with others to help achieve a more democratic regime there, the better off the whole region will be."@en1
