We did this in spite of the fact that we lost parts of the vote concerning paragraphs we should have liked to have deleted from the resolution. One of these was paragraph 3, indicating the period in which referendums might take place. We do not believe that the European Parliament should produce proposals on this issue. Another is paragraph 6, in which the Council and the Commission are called upon to draw up an appropriate campaign and communication strategy. We believe that a communication strategy is required, but do not believe that the Council and the Commission should go in for conducting campaigns."@en1
