".
Mr President, it is not a question of whether or not an agreement should be concluded; Parliament has said all along that an agreement should be concluded. Rather, what we want is an agreement to be concluded that has the approval of Parliament, as Mr Bolkestein promised us in September of last year.
We are asking the Court of Justice to take care of this and to ensure that we are able to exercise our rights, so that we can block parts of the agreement – the transferring of data to third countries by the United States, to name but one – if we believe that they are not currently possible. I hope, therefore, that Parliament will continue to follow the course outlined."@en1
