". How could I refuse a meeting with a Member of the European Parliament? I would be happy to meet with you; we could go through my reply, the Commission's position on this matter and the criteria that I explained to you. We do not accept all types of trophy hunting. We certainly do not accept the subsequent selling of such 'trophies'. We have every reason to meet and go through the current situation. It is also true that, done in the proper way, this can be a very important area of conservation in some of the countries concerned. Those countries may get something out of this that means they will be better able to manage these resources and wild animals – we also have some good examples of that. I am fully aware of the reports we have received and also of some very worrying trends, so I am more than happy to meet. I also welcome nice comments from Members of Parliament!"@en1
