You know that, on the question of national champions, we shall seek to follow – or, whenever possible, pre-empt – your invitation to keep up our guard. Indeed, the criticism is sometimes made that the European Commission’s competition policy does not do enough to encourage national champions.
As regards the liberal professions, a subject we have already discussed in this Parliament, in February I will present to the Commission a report – which will subsequently be published – on the liberal professions in Europe.
