"I should like to welcome to the official gallery a Libyan delegation currently visiting the European Parliament. I am pleased to inform you that today our interparliamentary relations with Libya take a positive step forward. The delegation, from the General People's Congress of Libya, is led by Mr Ahmed Mohamed Ibrahim, Vice-President of that Congress. Mr Ibrahim, I welcome you and your colleagues, and underline the importance we attach to your visit in the present circumstances. The recent measures taken by Libya are a cause for some hope.
